What Are Rare Blooks in Blooket?
Rare blooks are the third rarity tier in Blooket, identified by a blue diamond icon and a drop animation of blue and cyan confetti from the bottom corners of the screen.
In the full rarity ladder, Rares sit at: Common → Uncommon → Rare → Epic → Legendary → Chroma → Unique → Mystical → Hidden. Every Rare blook sells for 20 tokens and contributes a Blook Score of 10. Rares drop exclusively from standard Market packs, with no event participation, special accounts, or external platforms required. The drop rate for any individual Rare blook falls between 4% and 10%, depending entirely on which pack it belongs to.

How Many Packs Does It Take? Cumulative Probability by Drop Rate
Cumulative probability shows the true cost of targeting a specific Rare blook: a 9% drop rate reaches a 50% cumulative chance after roughly 8 packs, while a 4% rate requires 17 packs to cross the same threshold.
Each pack opening is an independent event. A 9% drop rate means each pack carries a 9% chance, regardless of how many packs came before it. Cumulative probability calculates the likelihood of landing a target blook at least once across a total number of openings, using the formula 1 − (1 − p)^N. The table below applies this across all six Rare drop rate tiers, at realistic opening counts for the Rare tier.
| Packs Opened | 10% | 9% | 7% | 6.1% | 5.55% | 4% |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 10 | 65.1% | 61.1% | 51.6% | 46.6% | 43.0% | 33.5% |
| 25 | 92.8% | 90.4% | 84.0% | 79.6% | 76.6% | 64.0% |
| 50 | 99.5% | 99.0% | 97.4% | 95.8% | 94.0% | 87.0% |
| 100 | ~100% | ~100% | ~100% | 99.8% | 99.6% | 98.3% |
Token Cost to Reach 50% Cumulative Probability
- Space Pack (10%, 20t): ~7 packs = 140 tokens
- Medieval/Bot (9%, 20t): ~8 packs = 160 tokens
- Dino/Bug (9%, 25t): ~8 packs = 200 tokens
- Spooky (4%, 25t): ~17 packs = 425 tokens
These figures are probability estimates based on stated drop rates. Each pack opening is an independent event. Past openings do not influence future results.
When a Rare Blook Is Harder to Get Than an Epic
The Spooky Pack's five Rare blooks each drop at 4%, a lower rate than five Epic blooks found in other packs.
Those five Epics, and their drop rates, are:
- Snowman: 4.25%
- Bush Monster: 4.5%
- Spaceship: 4.5%
- Unicorn: 5%
- French Toast: 5%
A player opening Spooky Packs for Vampire Bat, Crow, or Candy Corn faces statistically worse odds than a player targeting any of those five Epics. The rarity tier label reflects where a blook sits in Blooket's classification system. It does not guarantee a higher drop rate than every blook in the tier below it. Pack selection matters as much as target rarity when calculating token efficiency. Players farming Spooky Rares should factor this rate directly into their opening budget rather than assuming Rare-tier blooks are easier to land than Epics across the board.
Rare Blooks That Have Chroma Reskins
Several Rare blooks share a base design with an obtainable Chroma variant, two of which drop from active Market packs with published rates.
Pufferfish has an active Chroma reskin: Pirate Pufferfish drops from the Pirate Pack at 0.03%. Platypus has the same: Teal Platypus drops from the Outback Pack at 0.03%. Both are permanently available, not event-locked. Three additional Rare blooks connect to guaranteed Chromas through event pack windows: Planet to Lovely Planet (Lovely Pack), White Rabbit to Spring Rabbit (Spring Pack), and Bee to Lucky Bee (Lucky Pack). Those Chromas require 100% drop from their respective event packs, so availability depends on the active event calendar. Mummy's reskin, Spooky Mummy, is retired and no longer obtainable.
