Octopus Blook in Blooket

Octopus is a Rare blook in Blooket — found in the Aquatic Pack with a 6.1% drop rate per opening. It carries the most interesting rarity anomaly in Fishing Frenzy: despite being a Rare in the Aquatic Pack, Octopus is classified as an “Epic Grab” in Fishing Frenzy — one full tier above its actual pack rarity. This makes it the only Rare blook that catches at Epic level in Fishing Frenzy. The promotion is not cosmetic: Octopus weighs 10,000–15,000 lbs with a 15% hook chance — far heavier than the other Aquatic Rares (Pufferfish at 2,000–4,000 lbs and Blobfish at 3,000–5,000 lbs). Its unreleased Chroma — Crimson Octopus — is a red recolour that also appears in Fishing Frenzy despite being unobtainable. Aquatic Pack probability is available at the BlooketIQ calculator.

How to Get Octopus in Blooket

Octopus drops from the Aquatic Pack at 6.1% — matching Pufferfish and Blobfish. The Aquatic Pack costs 20 tokens per opening. Octopus’s rate was originally 6.8% before Dolphin was added to the pack.

Octopus in Game Modes

Octopus appears in 2 game modes — Fishing Frenzy and Café.

Fishing Frenzy (Epic Grab — Rarity Promotion)

Octopus is classified as an “Epic Grab” in Fishing Frenzy — one tier above its actual Rare rarity in the Aquatic Pack. This rarity mismatch is unique: no other Rare blook is promoted to Epic tier in Fishing Frenzy. The inverse anomaly also exists in the same mode: Narwhal (Epic in pack) is placed in the “Catch of the Day” tier (Legendary level).

Octopus catches in A, B, or C tiers with a 15% hook chance — the highest hook rate of any Epic Grab blook. It weighs 10,000–15,000 lbs, making it roughly 3× heavier than Blobfish and 5× heavier than Pufferfish.

Octopus also serves as a distraction: when hooked as a distraction card, octopi appear on every other player’s screen, spinning and zooming in before popping out.

Café

Octopus appears as a customer.

Octopus Design & Appearance

Octopus depicts a purple cephalopod with eight tentacles and large eyes — a stylised version of a common octopus. The purple colouring distinguishes it from its Chroma variant Crimson Octopus (red recolour, unreleased).

Crimson Octopus is one of 7 unreleased Aquatic Chromas. Despite being unobtainable from any pack, Crimson Octopus appears in Fishing Frenzy as an “Epic Grab” (5% hook chance, 15,000–30,000 lbs, A/B tier only) and in Café as a customer. Its Battle Royale team name — “Red Team 8” — directly references the base Octopus’s “Team 8.”

Octopus has no obtainable Chroma variant.

Octopus Trivia

  1. Octopus is the only Rare blook promoted to “Epic Grab” in Fishing Frenzy — catching one tier above its actual pack rarity. The inverse exists too: Narwhal (Epic in pack) is placed at “Catch of the Day” (Legendary level). Fishing Frenzy applies its own rarity hierarchy independent of pack classifications.
  2. At 10,000–15,000 lbs, Octopus is the heaviest Rare catch in Fishing Frenzy — roughly 3× the weight of Blobfish (3,000–5,000 lbs) and 5× that of Pufferfish (2,000–4,000 lbs). The weight reflects its elevated “Epic Grab” status in the mode.
  3. Crimson Octopus (unreleased Chroma) appears in Fishing Frenzy and Café despite being unobtainable. Its team name “Red Team 8” directly references Octopus’s “Team 8.”
  4. Octopus’s Battle Royale team name — “Team 8” — references the animal’s eight tentacles. Real octopuses have three hearts, blue blood, and can change colour, texture, and shape in milliseconds.
  5. Each Aquatic Rare has a unique distraction animation in Fishing Frenzy: Octopus spins and zooms, Pufferfish pops in sequence, and Blobfish slides left-to-right with three pauses. No two Rares disrupt the screen the same way.
  6. Real octopuses have the largest brain-to-body ratio of any invertebrate — they can solve puzzles, unscrew jars from the inside, and escape through openings barely larger than their eyeball (the only rigid part of their body).
  7. Targeting Megalodon at 0.2% or Baby Shark at 0.5%? The BlooketIQ calculator projects Octopus, Pufferfish, and Blobfish accumulation alongside both Legendaries — free, independently maintained, no Blooket LLC connection.
