Pufferfish Blook in Blooket

Pufferfish is a Rare blook in Blooket — found in the Aquatic Pack with a 6.1% drop rate per opening. It holds a dual role in Fishing Frenzy that no other blook can match: Pufferfish appears as a catchable “Rare Find” (7% hook rate, 2,000–4,000 lbs) and as a distraction card — when a player hooks the distraction version, multiple Pufferfish appear one by one on everyone else’s screen, zooming up and popping to disrupt their gameplay. No other blook functions as both a catch and a distraction in the same mode. Pufferfish also appears on the Aquatic Pack cover art and has a Chroma reskin in a completely different pack: Pirate Pufferfish (Pirate Pack, 0.03%). Aquatic Pack probability is available at the BlooketIQ calculator.

How to Get Pufferfish in Blooket

Pufferfish drops from the Aquatic Pack at 6.1% — matching Blobfish and Octopus, the other two Rares. The Aquatic Pack costs 20 tokens per opening and is the only pack with 2 Legendaries (Baby Shark at 0.5% and Megalodon at 0.2%) and 2 Epics (Narwhal and Dolphin). Pufferfish’s rate was originally 6.8% before Dolphin was added to the pack, which redistributed all drop rates.

Pufferfish in Game Modes

Pufferfish appears in Fishing Frenzy and Café — but its Fishing Frenzy role is unusually complex.

Fishing Frenzy (Rare Find + Distraction)

Pufferfish has two distinct functions in Fishing Frenzy:

As a catch: Pufferfish is classified as a “Rare Find” — hookable in A, B, C, or D tiers with a 7% hook chance. It weighs between 2,000 and 4,000 lbs — solid points for a Rare-tier catch.

As a distraction: When a player hooks a distraction Pufferfish card, multiple Pufferfish appear one by one on every other player’s screen, zooming up and popping out to distract and disrupt gameplay. No other blook serves as both a catchable fish and a distraction tool in the same mode.

Pufferfish Design & Appearance

Pufferfish depicts a round, inflated pufferfish with spines — the defensive posture real pufferfish adopt when threatened. It appears on the Aquatic Pack cover art, making it the face of the pack despite being a Rare rather than one of the pack’s four higher-rarity blooks.

Pufferfish’s Chroma is Pirate Pufferfish — uniquely located in the Pirate Pack rather than the Aquatic Pack. This cross-pack Chroma was originally an unreleased Aquatic blook that was moved to the Pirate Pack when it launched. A visual glitch persists: opening a Pirate Pack and pulling Pirate Pufferfish shows the Aquatic Pack background and displays a 0% drop rate instead of the actual 0.03%. This glitch exists because the Chroma was originally designed for the Aquatic Pack.

Pufferfish Trivia

  1. Pufferfish is the only blook in Fishing Frenzy that functions as both a catchable fish (Rare Find, 7% hook rate) and a distraction card. When distraction-hooked, multiple Pufferfish appear on every other player’s screen to disrupt their gameplay.
  2. Pirate Pufferfish is the only Chroma that was originally designed for one pack (Aquatic) but released in a completely different pack (Pirate). The Aquatic Pack background still appears when pulling it — a persistent visual glitch.
  3. Pufferfish appears on the Aquatic Pack cover despite being a Rare — outranked by 2 Epics and 2 Legendaries within the same pack. Pack covers do not always feature the rarest blook.
  4. Pufferfish’s drop rate decreased from 6.8% to 6.1% when Dolphin was added to the Aquatic Pack on February 2, 2023. The addition of Dolphin redistributed all existing drop rates.
  5. Real pufferfish contain tetrodotoxin — one of the most potent toxins in nature, up to 1,200 times more poisonous than cyanide. In Japan, fugu (pufferfish) is a delicacy that requires specially licensed chefs to prepare safely.
  6. Pufferfish’s Battle Royale team name was “TEAM BIG” — referencing the inflated, spherical shape of a defensive pufferfish.
  7. Chasing Megalodon at 0.2% or Baby Shark at 0.5%? The BlooketIQ calculator projects Pufferfish, Blobfish, and Octopus accumulation alongside both Legendary targets — free, independently operated, no Blooket LLC affiliation.
