Blobfish Blook in Blooket

Blobfish is a Rare blook in Blooket — found in the Aquatic Pack with a 6.1% drop rate per opening. Beyond its Fishing Frenzy and Plushie Panic appearances, Blobfish holds a unique role in Blooket’s infrastructure: it is the placeholder image for Blooket’s 404 error pages and for empty search results on the Discover page. When something goes wrong or returns zero results, Blobfish is the face of failure — a fitting choice given its famously dejected expression. Its Chroma — Donut Blobfish — is one of 7 unreleased Aquatic Chromas, combining the Blobfish body with pink doughnut frosting and sprinkles. Aquatic Pack probability is available at the BlooketIQ calculator.

How to Get Blobfish in Blooket

Blobfish drops from the Aquatic Pack at 6.1% — matching Pufferfish and Octopus. The Aquatic Pack costs 20 tokens per opening. All three Rares share equal odds. Blobfish’s rate was originally 6.8% before Dolphin was added to the pack, which redistributed all drop rates.

Blobfish in Game Modes

Blobfish appears across 3 game modes — Fishing Frenzy, Plushie Panic, and Café.

Fishing Frenzy (Rare Find + Distraction)

Blobfish is a “Rare Find” in Fishing Frenzy — hookable in A, B, C, or D tiers with a 5% hook chance. It weighs between 3,000 and 5,000 lbs — heavier than Pufferfish (2,000–4,000 lbs) but lighter than Octopus (10,000–15,000 lbs).

Blobfish also functions as a distraction: when a player hooks the distraction card, a Blobfish zooms up to fill the entire screen, appears from the left side, and slides to the right, stopping three times along the way before popping out. This is a different distraction animation from Pufferfish‘s multi-blook pop sequence and Octopus’s spinning zoom.

Plushie Panic

Blobfish appears as one of the target plushies in Plushie Panic.

Café

Blobfish appears as a customer.

Blobfish Design & Appearance

Blobfish depicts a pink, gelatinous, sad-faced blob — the iconic image that won the Blobfish the title of “world’s ugliest animal” in a 2013 public vote. However, this appearance is scientifically misleading: the blob-like look is an artifact of decompression trauma from being brought to the surface. In its natural deep-sea habitat (600–1,200 metres depth), Blobfish looks like a normal fish with a structured body. The Blooket version uses the decompressed, melted appearance — the version most people recognise.

Blobfish’s Chroma is Donut Blobfish — an unreleased variant combining the Blobfish body with pink doughnut frosting and sprinkles on top. It is one of 7 unreleased Aquatic Chromas (alongside Lemon Crab, Poison Dart Frog, Rainbow Narwhal, Rainbow Jellyfish, Blizzard Clownfish, and Crimson Octopus). Despite being unreleased, Donut Blobfish appears in Fishing Frenzy as an “Epic Grab” (8% hook chance, 13,000–25,000 lbs).

Blobfish Trivia

  1. Blobfish is Blooket’s 404 error page placeholder — when a page doesn’t exist, Blobfish appears with the number 404. It also appears on empty Discover page search results. Ben Stewart likely chose it because Blobfish’s sad expression matches the reaction of encountering a broken link.
  2. Real blobfish do not look like the famous blob. Their melted appearance is caused by decompression damage from being pulled from 600–1,200 metres depth. In their natural habitat, they look like ordinary fish — the “ugliest animal” title is based on a misunderstanding.
  3. Blobfish functions as both a catch and a distraction in Fishing Frenzy — one of three Aquatic Rares with this dual role (alongside Pufferfish and Octopus). Each has a different distraction animation: Blobfish slides left-to-right, Pufferfish pops in sequence, Octopus spins.
  4. Donut Blobfish (unreleased Chroma) combines Blobfish’s body with Doughnut’s frosting and sprinkles — a cross-blook mashup that exists in Fishing Frenzy but cannot be obtained from any pack.
  5. Blobfish’s Battle Royale team name was “blob blob blob” — three words capturing the blook’s gelatinous, formless energy
  6. Among the three Aquatic Rares in Fishing Frenzy, Blobfish has the lowest hook chance (5%) but weighs more than Pufferfish (3,000–5,000 vs 2,000–4,000 lbs). Octopus outweighs both at 10,000–15,000 lbs.
  7. Chasing Megalodon at 0.2% — the rarest Legendary in the game? The BlooketIQ calculator projects Blobfish, Pufferfish, and Octopus accumulation at any token budget — free, independently operated, no Blooket LLC ties.
