Santa Claws was awarded for completing 1 full sticker set in the 2023 Contest of Candy and is now retired.
The 2023 CoC fundamentally changed from its 2019–2022 format. Instead of Halloween-themed toy collection, it used a Christmas-themed sticker system. Players answered questions to earn candy canes (100 per correct answer), used candy canes to buy sticker packs (which rotated hourly), and completed sticker sets. The 2023 CoC prize ladder was: 1 sticker set (Santa Claws), 5 sets (Cookies Combo), 10 sets (Chilly Flamingo), all stickers (Snowy Bush Monster), top 50 (Nutcracker Koala), and top 3 (Hamsta Claus Mystical).

Santa Claws is a Chroma reskin of the Crab blook, an Uncommon from the Aquatic Pack.
The design adds a Santa hat and a small white mustache/beard to the base Crab — transforming it into a festive holiday crustacean. The name “Santa Claws” is a pun combining “Santa Claus” with “claws” (a crab’s pincers). This wordplay is similar to Peppermint Bark’s double-meaning name (dog bark + candy bark).
Santa Claws is the third reskin of the Crab blook, after Lemon Crab (unreleased) and Ice Crab (Ice Monster Pack, 0.02%). A fourth variant, Clockwork Crab, appears in the Clockwork Monster Brawl map. The Crab blook has more reskins across different contexts than most Uncommons.
