Coco Cabana and Cocoa Cottage are the same Blooket Plus mode wearing two different seasonal skins, not two separate games with different rules. Both run on an identical two-phase loop: collect ingredients, then race back to stir them into points, while a rival team tries to sabotage your progress along the way. Coco Cabana and Cocoa Cottage sit inside the wider Blooket Plus modes lineup, and once the entity relationship is clear, the rest of the mechanics apply equally to whichever season is currently live.
Yes. Coco Cabana and Cocoa Cottage share the exact same core gameplay, controls, and scoring rules, and the only real difference is the visual theme tied to each season. Cocoa Cottage brings a winter cocoa theme, while Coco Cabana swaps in a tropical smoothie theme, but a player who learns one version already knows how to play the other.
Both versions run on a two-phase cycle that repeats until the game ends. During the Collect phase, players move around the map gathering ingredients and dropping them into their own team’s cup. Movement uses WASD or arrow keys on desktop and a joystick on mobile, the same control scheme found in Laser Tag.
During the Stir phase, players can no longer collect anything and instead return to their team’s cup to tap or click it as fast as possible, converting the round’s progress into bonus points. Once the Stir phase ends, the Collect phase resumes, and the cycle continues until time runs out or a team hits the target score. An energy bar at the bottom of the screen drains every second, even while standing still, and hitting zero triggers a question that must be answered correctly to refill it.
Standard ingredients add a small amount to a team’s score, while golden ingredients are worth significantly more, and a separate sabotage item lets one team cut into the other’s progress directly.
| Item | Effect |
| Standard Ingredient | +1 point when dropped in your team’s cup |
| Golden Ingredient | +5 points when dropped in your team’s cup |
| Tropical Glass (Coco Cabana) / Mini Mug (Cocoa Cottage) | Dropped in the opposing team’s cup, removes points from them |
Golden ingredients pay 5 times as many points as standard ones, making them worth a detour whenever one appears on the map. The sabotage item works in the opposite direction of collecting: instead of adding to your own team, it gets carried into the rival team’s cup to strip points away from them. In Coco Cabana specifically, this steal removes 3 points from the target team; Cocoa Cottage’s exact steal amount hasn’t been confirmed to match.
Two power-ups round out the mode beyond ingredients and sabotage. The Leaf (Coco Cabana) or Snowglobe (Cocoa Cottage) is a pure distraction item that instantly covers the opposing team’s screen, making it harder for them to spot ingredients or read the next question. The Magnet works the opposite way, extending a player’s collection range so nearby ingredients get gathered automatically while it’s active.
Each seasonal version splits players into its own named pair of teams, though the underlying team structure is identical. Cocoa Cottage’s teams are the Ready Reindeer and the Snuggly Snowflakes, collecting Red Mugs and Blue Mugs respectively. Coco Cabana’s teams are the Party Pineapples and the Coco Coconuts, collecting Pineapples and Coconuts to match. Every player wears a hat or scarf color matching their team’s cup, and that same color appears next to their name, so team identity stays visible throughout the match.
Cocoa Cottage runs from winter through fall, and Coco Cabana takes over for spring and summer, so only one version is ever live at a given time rather than both running side by side.
Cocoa Cottage released on April 1, 2025, and despite the date, it was not an April Fools joke. It was beta tested by community members on March 25 and 29, 2025, and had already leaked about a week before its official release. Coco Cabana followed roughly two months later, beta tested on May 21, 2025 using the question set “Name That Logo,” and released the very next day on May 22.
Cocoa Cottage features the Baby Penguin blook during its tutorial only, while Coco Cabana features the Parrot the same way, neither appearing as a playable character afterward. Both modes belong to a small group of Blooket reskin pairs alongside Gold Quest, Candy Quest, and Shamrock Quest, and separately to a group of team-based modes that includes Battle Royale, Blook Rush, Laser Tag, and Snowball Fight. One detail hides in the map design itself: Coco Cabana’s map places a snowy island resembling Cocoa Cottage nearby, and Cocoa Cottage’s own map hints at the same connection by facing its island away from where Coco Cabana would later appear, making this the fourth time one Blooket mode has referenced another inside its map.
Yes. They share identical mechanics, controls, and scoring, and only the seasonal visual theme changes between them.
Yes. Both versions require a Blooket Plus account, and neither has a history of going free.
A golden ingredient adds 5 points, compared to 1 point for a standard ingredient, a 5 times difference.
It removes points from that team. In Coco Cabana, dropping the Tropical Glass removes 3 points from the opposing team’s total.
