Three modes no longer appear on Blooket’s game mode selection screen: Imposters, which never actually launched, Snowball Fight, retired after one lukewarm season, and Pirate’s Voyage, retired exactly two years after release. Each disappeared for a different reason, and only two of the three left behind a confirmed successor.
Imposters never made it past development. The concept placed one player as a secret Imposter tasked with “eliminating” Crewmates who answered questions and voted to identify who among them was lying, built around a spaceship setting and social-deduction voting rounds.
Blooket scrapped the mode for three stated reasons: its slow, discussion-heavy voting format didn’t fit Blooket’s fast quiz pacing, its violent themes around eliminating classmates and finding dead bodies clashed with a school-safe platform, and it sat too close in concept to the well-known social-deduction game it drew inspiration from. Because it never released publicly, no token rate, exact date, or live gameplay footage exists for it.
Snowball Fight launched December 10, 2019, during Season 1’s “Blizzard Blast” event as a team-only mode with no Solo option. Every three correct answers unlocked a choice between Attack, which cost the opposing team 5 HP, or Defend, which added 2 HP to a player’s own team, repeating until one side hit zero HP or time expired.
The mode drew a lukewarm community reception and never returned for Season 2. Blooket replaced its seasonal slot directly with Santa’s Workshop, which has run every winter since. Snowball Fight’s attack-and-defend structure closely resembles the shield system in Blook Rush, though Blooket’s own records only describe this as a likely inspiration rather than a confirmed mechanical transfer between the two modes.
Pirate’s Voyage released September 26, 2023, and stayed Plus-exclusive for its entire two-year existence, the only retired mode that never went free. Players rolled two dice for a value between 2 and 12, moving their ship across 22 islands, including a Treasure Island that doubled a player’s doubloon count and a Wreckage tile that triggered a 3×3 grid steal mini-game called the Pirate Heist. Regular islands paid out more doubloons on each repeat visit, scaling from a few hundred on the first stop into the millions by a sixth return.
Blooket retired the mode on September 26, 2025, exactly two years to the day after launch, citing a need to free up development resources for newer modes. Blooket’s own statement pointed to Plus subscriber attention shifting toward releases like Laser Tag, Cocoa Cottage, and Mini Mine, and named Pirate Pool as the intended pirate-themed successor going forward.

Deceptive Dinos filled the thematic gap Imposters would have occupied instead, carrying a detection-and-deception layer through its excavate-and-investigate loop rather than reusing any of Imposters’ actual spaceship or voting mechanics.
