Café is one of the Solo, Homework, and Hosting-capable game modes on Blooket, built around answering questions to earn currency, restock food items, and serve customers for profit. Solo and Homework mode run on a lives-and-days system that Hosting mode drops entirely in favor of open-ended shopping and player abilities. Café carries no elimination and no chest luck, so unlike Gold Quest’s chest risk or Battle Royale’s elimination pressure, every correct answer in Café adds directly to a growing total with nothing standing between you and your next customer.
In Solo and Homework mode, every correct answer adds one unit of stock to all nine food items at once, and each customer carries a depleting wait bar that costs one of three lives if it empties. Play is structured into days, and the shop only opens once a day ends, showing that day’s stats and total profit before the next day begins. Wrong answers cost nothing beyond the missed stock, since the game simply presents another question.
Losing all three lives ends the run for that session, making customer service timing the real constraint in Solo mode rather than currency itself. A player with a full stock of every food but a habit of ignoring the wait bar loses runs just as fast as a player who never restocks.
Hosting mode removes the wait bar, the three-life limit, and the day structure entirely, replacing them with a straight profit race against every other player in the session. The shop stays open at any point during the game instead of locking until a day ends, so players can restock or upgrade the moment they have enough currency. This structural difference means Solo and Hosting reward different habits even though both run on the same underlying food-and-currency system.
Hosting mode also introduces player abilities, a layer that doesn’t exist in Solo or Homework play at all. Abilities cost currency and either boost the buyer’s own café or interfere with an opponent’s, turning Hosting Café into a competitive economy rather than a private one.
Café’s Hosting mode offers seven abilities, ranging from a $500 Paycheck Bonus that adds cash directly to a balance up through a $150,000 Run It Back that lets a player repurchase every ability again. Supply Crate adds seven stock to every food item for $1,000, while Happy Customers doubles the payout from a player’s next five customers for $2,500. These three sit on the helpful end of the ability list, aimed at accelerating a player’s own café rather than sabotaging anyone else’s.
The remaining four abilities lean toward disruption. Trash the Food removes three stock from every item on a targeted player for $5,000, and TAXES!!! cuts a targeted player’s balance by 25 percent for $7,500. Health Inspection forces a target through a ten-second forced inspection for $10,000, freezing their ability to serve during that window. Buying an ability that damages a leading opponent often returns more value late in a session than spending the same currency on a personal upgrade that only helps marginally.
Blook rarity no longer affects customer payout in Café, since Blooket’s rework replaced the old rarity-based pay system with a random amount for every customer regardless of which blook they are. Before the rework, rarer customer blooks paid noticeably more than common ones, which meant prioritizing rare-looking customers was a real strategy. That advantage no longer exists under the current system.
Any strategy built around chasing specific customer types for higher payouts reflects the pre-rework version of the mode. Under the current system, serving speed and stock availability matter more than which blook happens to be standing at the counter.
Café’s nine food stock items, Toast, Cereal, Yogurt, Breakfast Combo, Orange Juice, Milk, Waffle, Pancakes, and French Toast, all trace back to the Breakfast Pack that launched alongside the mode. Toast unlocks from the start and costs the least to stock, while French Toast sits locked behind the highest unlock cost and stands as the most expensive food in the game. Checking where these Breakfast Pack blooks land on BlooketIQ’s pack calculator shows the same rarity tiers that decide both pack odds and, previously, customer payout in Café.
Café also carries one of the platform’s Mystical blooks, placing it alongside a small group of modes including Fishing Frenzy, Monster Brawl, and Tower Defense that feature this rarity tier somewhere in their gameplay. For a full breakdown of how Mystical and Unique blooks differ from the standard rarity ladder, BlooketIQ’s guide to obtaining Mystical and Unique blooks covers the distinction in depth.
Café’s rework finished on August 21, 2025, after a false start on August 13 where the mode was disabled and returned with no visible changes. Blooket disabled the mode a second time roughly a week later, and the version that emerged introduced the current ability system, removed rarity-based customer pay, and raised the token rate from 0.75 to 2 tokens per correct answer. Café became the fifth Blooket mode to receive a full rework, following Racing, Deceptive Dinos, Crazy Kingdom, and Factory.
The rework also removed the Solo-mode wait bar’s visible timer display and eliminated any maximum cap on food stock, letting players hold unlimited quantities of any item once unlocked. Every mechanic described above reflects this current, reworked version of the mode rather than its original 2020 release.
No, Café mode is available on every free Blooket account across Solo, Homework, and Hosting play. No subscription tier restricts access to the mode or any of its current mechanics.
Solo and Homework mode give each player three lives, with one lost every time a customer’s wait bar empties before being served. Losing all three ends that day’s run.
No confirmed speed bonus exists in Café’s core mechanics. Every correct answer adds the same stock and currency regardless of how quickly it was submitted.
No, Blooket removed the maximum stock cap during the 2025 rework. Players can now hold unlimited quantities of any unlocked food item.
All nine food stock items in Café originate from the Breakfast Pack, the same pack that launched alongside the mode in September 2020. Toast is the cheapest and first available, while French Toast is the most expensive and last to unlock.
